The right powder coating line should be selected according to the products and production process rather than simply choosing a higher level of automation.

Start with the workpieces: their material, dimensions, weight, shape, surface condition, and areas that require coating. Then determine the required production capacity, working hours, coating specifications, and whether the products will be processed continuously or in batches.

The pretreatment method, conveyor system, powder booth, curing oven, recovery system, and spray equipment should then be configured around these requirements. Factory dimensions, building height, available utilities, loading and unloading areas, and future production plans also need to be considered.

For mixed-product production, the design should also consider product changeover, hanger configuration, conveyor speed, spray coverage, and curing requirements. A complete equipment selection should therefore be based on the entire coating process rather than on individual machines.
